Kabayanihang Pilipino: Ang Mukha ng Bayani sa Agos ng Kasaysayan




2009 PHA Annual Conference




The Philippine Historical Association, Inc. (PHA), in collaboration with the National Historical Institute (NHI), will hold its Annual Conference on September 18, 2009 at the Tambunting Hall, Museum of the Filipino People, National Museum, Manila.

With the theme “Kabayanihang Pilipino: Ang Mukha ng Bayani sa Agos ng Kasaysayan”, this year’s national conference will include papers and lectures on the changing concept of heroism as well strategies, methods and techniques in teaching heroes and heroism in the classroom. The speakers include: Dr. Evelyn Miranda, University of the Philippines Diliman (“Mga Limot na Bayani sa Kasaysayan”); Dr. Ricardo Jose, University of the Philippines Diliman (“The Filipino Soldier in History”); Mr. Jeremiah Opiniano, President of OFW Journalism Consortium (“Ang Mga OFWs: Mga Bagong Bayani); Prof. Mary Dorothy Jose, University of the Philippine Manila (Ang Kabayanihan ng mga Kababaihan); and Prof. Jerome Ong, University of the Philippines Manila (Pagtuturo ng Kabayanihan sa Silid-Aralan).

Registration will be at 8:00am and the program will promptly start at 8:45am. Conference fee is P1, 500.00, inclusive of registration, conference kit, hand-outs, 2 snacks, and lunch. An optional tour to historical places in Cavite (Binakayan, Aguinaldo Shrine, Tejeros, Casa Hacienda de Naic, Maragondon Trial House, and Mt. Nagpatong) will also be available on September 19 for a minimal fee of P500.00. Registration must be confirmed.
